Our Story

Hello, this is Mark, owner and operator of Commercial 1 Cleaning.

In January 1989, I purchased a Chem-Dry Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning Franchise.

I had never cleaned carpet or upholstery, nor did I have one single client. After months of leaving flyers at doors and offering free demos to apartment managers, a small network of clients was slowly built.

We mainly cleaned vacant apartments back in 1989. This gave us a lot of experience in learning how to remove every type of stain imaginable, from coffee to soil. Cleaning carpet and upholstery is both an Art and a Science. Each stain has its own properties and reacts differently depending on the fabric and both the Ph level of the stain and/or cleaning product that is being used to clean it. 

That being said, we were only allowed to use the products of our franchisor. So in 1996, after 7 years of a positive experience with our franchisor, we ventured off on our own and developed our own method of cleaning both carpet and upholstery while combining what we had previous learned, which was more of a “dry clean“ approach and incorporating that methodology, with our Truckmount Cleaning set-up in order to provide the best commercial cleaning job available.

Since our beginning, we have never advertised, we have acquired our accounts and relationships with property managers and owners through referrals and “word of mouth”.

This website is our first attempt at marketing ourselves. At present time we do not have any other online presence. During the Covid Pandemic of 2020, we saw many of our clients either close temporarily and some were forced to close permanently which forced us to finally enter the online arena.

That being said, we currently wear facial masks while working at your facility and offer sanitizing options to assist in keeping a safer and cleaner environment for you and your workforce.
